I'm trying to introduce a new use for a slang term, because I think "jizz" is a really cute and phonetically catchy word, such that it should be used in a non-obscene way. The obvious alternative would for it to replace "come" in non-ejaculatory contexts - e.g. I responded to an evite yesterday by saying that I would "jizz on over if I finished grading in time" and I think everyone understood exactly what I was saying.

Spread the word.

Some notes from grading finals:

1- "The fact/value distinction is correct because facts and values are separate." I don't think one has to be a logician to see there's something amiss there.

2- Boys and girls have different handwriting. I guessed the gender correctly on 45/48 finals from handwriting alone - one of the three misses was a 6'5'' 260lb defensive lineman.

  I've heard it said that 90% of Americans think that they're smarter than average. I would guess that this is not a deep psychological fact about self-misperception. My theory is that it's caused by two things - the abundance of false praise and those quizzes they show before the movie previews, e.g. "Can you unscramble the name of this star from 'Minority Report': OMT UISCRE?", both of which make people feel smarter than they actually are.   ¶ 2:14 PM 0 comments
